In 2011 both, the 9th Full Metal Panic! Short Story Collection as well as the first issue of the Spinoff-Novel Project "Full Metal Panic! Another" made it into the list of Top-Selling Light Novels in Japan. The list covers the sales from November 22, 2010 to November 20, 2011.

While "Another 1" (フルメタル・パニック！　アナザー１) came in on spot 39 with 93,587 copies sold, the new Short Story Collection by Shouji Gatoh (フルメタル・パニック！ マジで危ない九死に一生？) made it to spot 35, outselling "Another 1" by 5704 copies with 99,291 copies sold overall . Best-Selling Light Novel in 2011 was "The Surprise of Haruhi Suzumiya" with 435,124 copies.

In addition, the Cover Art for "Another 2" has been revealed. "Full Metal Panic! Another 2" will be released on December 20th, 2011 and include a changeable cover showing Adelina from "Another 1" in a swimsuit.
