Full Metal Panic! Another Light Novel And Manga Volumes

So there is this thing called Full Metal Panic! Another. What is it? A spinoff light novel series set in the same universe as FMP, 11 years after the events of the final book in the original Full Metal Panic! light novel series. What is a light novel? It's a style of Japanese novel primarily targeting middle and high school students (as wikipedia would say).

FP!A is written by Naoto Ooguro with some help of Shoji Gatoh, creator and author of FMP. As with the original Full Metal Panic! light novel series, illustrations are done by Shiki Douji.

There has been one known attempt by the Baka-Tsuki Translation Community to fan translate FP!A (the official abbreviation for Full Metal Panic! Another) to english, but so far they didn't live up to their promise.

However, the events of Full Metal Panic! Another are not completely unknown. Over the past years, users of the animesuki FMP! board have gathered a buch of spoilers that should give you a pretty good idea, what FP!A is about and where it's headed.

This series is ongoing. Full Metal Panic! Another 7 is set to be released in Japan on January 20, 2014.

FP!A 1-6 (Left) Versus The FMP! 1-6 (Right) Light Novel Volumes

On a side note, FP!A volume 1-6 roughly come at the same page count as the original six Full Metal Panic! light novel volumes (not counting short stories), although with a more constant pages per volume ratio.
It's currently unknown how many more FP!A volumes are going to be written, but ... if Full Metal Panic! Another is set to run as long as FMP! did, does that mean we can expect a similar convoluted climax as with the original?

There already are five volumes in the FP!A Manga adaptation by You Taichi. With 26 chapters, so far it reaches about half into Full Metal Panic! Another 4. All cover arts show Adelina Aleksandrovna Kerenskaya in front of various Mecha from the story.
